Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria
The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) is a national body comprising all Nigerian Muslim healthcare professionals as its core members, and other associate and honorary members. It was founded in 1989 with the aim of, among other things, uniting Muslim healthcare professionals across the federation and fostering the union of Islamic values with mainstream medical practices. Over the years, IMAN has actively weighed in on the discourse around Islamic perspectives on topical health issues through their annual conferences, while engaging in humanitarian activities with their occasional provision of free medical and relief services.
